Adult Classes Offered Winter 2012

· The Lost Art of Praying

Rev. Buchanan will be teaching a class based on EPC pastor James Banks' book The Lost Art of Praying Together.  Let’s be honest, prayer meetings are not at the top of most people’s lists of favorite things to do, and there’s a reason.  Praying together is a lost art for many Christians,  sometimes we let a few less than inspiring experiences discourage us.  We can even feel that it’s only something reserved for a select group of Christians, those who are “good” at praying.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  God loves it when His children pray and He wants us to pray together!

 · Hebrews Bible Study

Lanny Burt will be teaching a class focusing on the book of Hebrews. He offers this course description:  “Hebrews was written for a Jewish audience by a Jewish author. In order to fully understand the author’s purpose it is necessary to look closely at the examples the author uses as illustrations. The class will examine various topics contained in the book, such as the temple, offerings, priests, and their Old Testament origins and meaning.”

 · Just Like Jesus

Adam Snow will teach this class, looking at the various character traits of Jesus Christ.  Max Lucado's book Just Like Jesus will serve as somewhat of a guide for the class.  This class will look at the life of Jesus, then try to answer the question, "What would Jesus do?" in certain situations that we face in our culture today.
