Robert A. Buchanan
Pastor

"I grew up knowing a lot about God with my dad being a Presbyterian pastor, but I don't feel I really knew Him until I was a junior in high school.  I sprained my ankle one morning during cross-country practice (I can't believe I used to run most mornings).  My mother knew I wasn't serving the Lord, so while she had a captive audience on the couch, me, she prayed.  Something happened that day.  I knew God was real, that He loved me, and had a plan for my life.  Since then I've come to learn that I was filled with the Spirit that day.  From that day I've sensed God's call to tell others about Him."

Rev. Buchanan holds a B.A. in New Testament Studies from Oral Roberts University, the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Regent University, and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  He's been married to his wife Karen since 1990 and they have three children, Ian, Hannah, and Karis.  Rev. Buchanan has served as Pastor at EPC since 2001.

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV '84)

Adam Snow
Director of Ministry Development

"I have been involved with Elkton EPC since 1997, after coming to Christ in 1996.  I was never at a place where I would say I did not believe in God, I just wasn't sure of the whole Jesus thing - who was He, what did He do, etc.  One night while I was sitting on the porch talking to this girl I was dating - who is now my beautiful wife, Heather - she told me about Jesus and what it means to be a Christian.  I went home that night and confessed Jesus as my Lord and Savior and have been living for Him ever since."

I have been on staff part-time since 2005, moving to full-time in 2008. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Religion from Liberty University in 2009, and am currently pursuing my Masters of Divinity at Regent University with an expected graduation in 2013 - if all goes well. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and doing anything outside. It is truly a blessing to be able to serve Elkton EPC and walk with others into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. To Him be all the glory.

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. (NIV)

Bonnie Burt
Office Manager

"In my mid-twenties, I knew I needed to take a different direction in my life.  I was searching for God.  Through conversations with a friend (who is now my husband), I took a giant step of faith and reached out toward God and when I did, He reached back toward me with grace and forgiveness.  I can't imagine what direction my life would have taken without Him."

A native of Northern Virginia, my husband and I moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 1996.  I was employed by James Madison University, working with several different programs, including adult learning and literacy during my tenure there.  We started attending EPC in 2000 and in September, 2002 I came on board as the church's office manager.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
